House Harlaw of Harlaw is one of the oldest and most powerful houses of the Iron Islands, tracing their lineage back to the Age of Heroes. They have ruled supreme over the island of Harlaw for thousands of years, and their prominence has never waned. They blazon their arms with an argent scythe on a black field, and their words are "Conquest Is Our Harvest".

Distinguished as the wealthiest amongst Ironborn nobility, and second in power only to House Greyjoy, they rule from their high seat at the Ten Towers, and all the other houses of Harlaw pledge fealty to them. Their vassals include the Houses Kenning, Myre, Stonetree and Volmark, and the cadet branches of Harlaw located at Grey Garden, Harlaw Hall, Harridan Hill and the Tower of Glimmering.

The senior line of the family is in possession of the Valyrian Steel longsword, Nightfall.
